Program outline:
The course addresses taxpayers' problems -- from audits to assessments -- with the IRS and provides systematic approaches to solve them.
It describes recent IRS restructuring and how that will affect the taxpayers. It discusses such issues as delinquent taxes, penalties,
interest, and the IRS collection process. It goes into IRS correction notices, various IRS claims and how to challenge them. It shows
how to resolve the "My Word Against Yours" dispute. There is a good discussion on tax audits and how the IRS selects returns for auditing.
Handling face-to-face audits is well covered in the course. The course provides techniques on how to audit-proof and penalty-proof tax returns.
There is a special section on small business tax problems and how to deal with them. The course also covers how to cope with
spousal tax bills. Appropriate tax codes, tax forms, and examples are cited throughout the course.
